Assistance aux femmes

House and mission

We've created a safe place for women victims of domestic violence to feel home.

Since 1977, our mission is to provide safe, confidential, and free shelter to women and their children from all cultural communities who are victims of domestic violence

Personalized services, assistance with various procedures, telephone support and referral, option to meet with a counsellor without requiring shelter, services provided in three languages at all times: French, English, and Spanish, expertise in domestic violence and immigration issues.

What can really save you is taking the first step then the other...

History and mission

We provide counselling and support as well as follow-up services for each resident. Thanks to our telephone support service and our external services program, we also help women who do not require a shelter.

Our feminist approach is designed to empower women, restore their self-confidence, and promote their autonomy. Our objective is to oppose domestic violence and diminish its impact on women and children. Our organization takes part in activities aimed at bringing about social change as it relates to domestic violence. We are also members of the Regroupement des maisons pour femmes victimes de violence conjugale (RMFVVC), an association of shelters for women who are victims of domestic violence.

Our organization receives funding from Québec’s Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux, the federal government’s Canada Summer Jobs program, and donors at our annual fundraising campaign.

Our shelters

Our shelters are places of respite for women and their children.

We have two houses:

  • The Mother House:

Each resident has a private room with her children.

    • Common areas: kitchen, dining room, playroom, backyard
    • 2 computers with internet connection

The workers’ and director’s offices are at the Mother House.

  • The Pink House:

With its large rooms, the Pink House is the perfect place for group activities, counselling sessions, administrative work, follow-ups as part of our post-residential and external services programs, weekly staff meetings, board of directors’ meetings, professional development sessions, etc. It also has a large playroom.
